Remove Unwanted Auto-fill Options Quickly and Easily

 auto-fill suggestions make your life easier when you fill out forms by recognizing that you have filled out a similar text field in the past and might want to enter the same information again. Auto-fill selections usually appear as a drop-down list of options when you double-click on a field in an entry form.

When it comes to entering sweepstakes, auto-fill can  by reducing the amount of typing you need to do.

If you don't want to use a form-filling program like , just double-click in the text field and select the correct suggestion from the drop-down list of options.

One frustrating thing about auto-fill suggestions, however, is that unwanted suggestions can build up over time. Perhaps you made a typo when you entered your name, you moved and have a new address now, or you filled out a form for a friend or relative one time. These suggestions aren't useful to you, and they can slow you down as you search for the right option.

Luckily, removing unwanted auto-fill suggestions is quick and easy. Follow these tips to prevent unneeded suggestions from appearing when you fill out forms:

How to Remove Auto-Fill Suggestions from Your Web Browser:​

  • How to Delete Auto-Fill Suggestions in Chrome

    To get rid of annoying auto-fill choices in Chrome, highlight the suggestion you don't want to receive any more and press the "shift" and "delete" keys at the same time.

    If you want to delete all of your auto-fill entries and start over fresh, you can click on the "" at the top right-hand side of your screen (it looks like three lines stacked on top of each other), click on the "Clear Browsing Data..." button, and make sure that the "Autofill form data" check box is selected before clearing the data.

  • Removing Auto-Fill Options in Internet Explorer

    In the Internet Explorer browser, all you need to do to delete individual auto-fill suggestions is:
    1. Double-click in the text field so the drop-down box of auto-fill options appears.
    2. Hold your mouse over the option that you want to remove from auto-fill so that it's highlighted. Don't click on it.
    3. Press your delete key. The option should be deleted from your auto-fill.
  • Removing Auto-Fill Options in Microsoft Edge

    If you want to remove ALL of your auto-fill suggestions from Microsoft's Edge browser:
    1. Open "Settings" by clicking on the three dots icon and selecting it from the menu.
    2. Go down to "Clear Browsing Data" and select "Choose What to Clear."
    3. Select "Form Data" and click the "Clear" button.

    As with Chrome, if you want to delete individual auto-fill suggestions in Firefox, highlight the suggestion you don't want to receive any more and press the "shift" and "delete" keys at the same time.

Keeping your autofill data clear and up-to-date will make entering sweepstakes faster and prevent you from accidentally selecting the wrong information when you're filling out a form.
